Tasting - Cortenova Primitivo

Name: Cortenova Primitivo
Variety: Primitivo
Region: Puglia
Country: Italy
Year: 2012
Price: $10.00
Shop Review: "Dark, ruby-red color with violent highlights. Intense and fragrant bouquet with a rich array of red and black fruit aromas and flavors. Harmonious and velvety on the palate. Great balance and structure. 100% Zinfandel."
My Review: The color was more brown-looking than usual, more burgundy than red. It smelled of berries and buttery goodness. The smell also reminded me of vanilla and oak. I thoroughly enjoyed this wine's scent. It tasted interesting, almost spicy like pepper but reminding me of plastic at the same time. I could drink this wine again. Was not paired with any food.
