Variety: Petite Sirah
Region: California
Country: USA
Year: 2013
Price: $5.95
Shop Review: "Shows a certain rustic simplicity now, with youthfully jammy flavors of blackberries, cherries and currants, sprinkled with cocoa and pepper and wrapped into dusty tannins."
My Review: Compared to the other reds during this tasting, the Petite Sirah was more purple-y reddish in color. It smelled warm and full-bodied. Its taste definitely agreed with its scent, because it was hearty in flavor, with hints of vanilla in the background. It was good, but also dry. There was no aftertaste which I liked. Overall, this wine was pretty good. Was not paired with any food.
